Macrogol 3350-based product with laxative action.

  • In chronic constipation
  • In cases of occasionally irregular bowel

Agpeg is a medical device with a laxative action which, through an osmotic action, regulates the intestine in a natural way. It is not absorbed or fermented in the intestine, it does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the faeces in an unmodified form. Agpeg is particularly indicated in chronic constipation and in cases of occasionally irregular bowel. In fact, thanks to its affinity for water, Agpeg softens the stool, facilitating evacuation. Its effectiveness does not decrease over time.

Therapeutic category

Medical device for oral administration.

Pack size: 30 sachets, 5g of macrogol 3350 each.

Recommended Doses
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 1-2 sachets per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 2-4 sachets per day.
Over 11 years (or> 20 kg) and adults: 2-6 sachets per day.

It is possible to divide the daily dose into several administrations. The dose can be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to treatment. In any case, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Use the product in pediatric children only after medical advice. The maximum dose needed does not normally exceed 6 sachets per day.
Instruction for use
Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in ½ glass of water or milk or other liquid (minimum volume 60 ml). Drink the solution thus reconstituted. The daily number of sachets to be taken can be reconstituted in advance in the appropriate volume of liquid and the solution stored in the refrigerator covered for up to 24 hours. It is recommended to take Agpeg between meals.
When not to use it
Do not take Agpeg in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon. The use of laxatives is contraindicated in case of abdominal pain acute or of unknown origin, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin and in case of severe dehydration. During pregnancy and lactation the product must be used on medical prescription.
Interactions with drugs
There are no known interactions with drugs but it is advisable that the intake of the product is spaced by at least 2 hours from that of drugs administered orally since the osmotic power of macrogol and the increase in speed
induced gastrointestinal transit can adversely affect their efficacy. However, consult your doctor before taking Agpeg in case of other therapies in progress.
